Providence police make 3 arrests Saturday on various charges

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Shyler Wills, age 32, of Providence, for domestic violation of a protection order on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 10:44 a.m.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue in Providence.

Wills was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned as a bail violator and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, troopers arrested Joel Tavarez, age 42, of Cranston, on an affidavit and arrest warrant for fifth degree arson originating from the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident investigation on Route 95 South in Providence.

Tavarez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.

At 11:16 p.m. Saturday, troopers arrested Mary Bennett, age 78, of Providence, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with unknown blood alcohol content and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Raymond Street in Providence.

Bennett was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court.
