ONEONTA — A 22-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on petit larceny charges after allegedly stealing nearly $500 worth of merchandise from a Walmart store.
Tariq Bennett was taken into custody Oct. 2 following a larceny complaint at the Walmart in the Town of Oneonta, according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Bennett allegedly left the store past the point of sale with $492 worth of items, authorities said.
He was processed and later released with an appearance ticket.
Bennett is scheduled to appear in Oneonta Town Court at a later date.
