NEW HARTFORD — A 40-year-old man was arrested Oct. 9 on charges of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Chad Biamonte was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, according to Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, who serves as director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division received a report in September alleging that an adult male had been acting inappropriately with a female child.

The case was assigned to Sgt. Melissa Bolton of the Child Advocacy Center for investigation.

Through investigation, authorities learned that Biamonte had been engaging in an ongoing, sexually explicit conversation through text message and social media with a female child less than 17 years of age.

Biamonte was located at his residence by Sgt. Bolton and Investigator Leonard Dillenbeck and arrested.

He was processed at the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building and turned over to corrections staff at the Oneida County Correctional Facility, pending arraignment at CAP Court.

An order of protection has been requested for the victim, who has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.
