Massachusetts man arrested in Canisteo on child exploitation charges

CANISTEO — New York State Police arrested Estefan D. Henriquez, 29, of Massachusetts, on Oct. 8 following an investigation into the online exploitation of minors.

Through an ongoing investigation, troopers determined that Henriquez had engaged in sexually explicit communications with a 14-year-old female in Steuben County and made arrangements to travel from Massachusetts to meet with her.

Investigators learned that Henriquez had previously met the victim in person and had sent numerous sexually explicit messages through a social media platform in the days leading up to his arrest.

At approximately 2:58 a.m., troopers observed Henriquez’s vehicle arrive at a prearranged location in the village of Canisteo.

Henriquez was taken into custody without incident and transported to SP Hornell for processing.

Henriquez was charged with kidnapping 2nd as sexually motivated, a class B felony.

He was also charged with rape 2nd for vaginal sexual contact with a person under 15, a class D felony.

Additional charges include rape 2nd for oral sexual contact with a person under 15, a class D felony.

Henriquez faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

He was charged with attempted kidnapping 2nd as sexually motivated, a class C felony.

Additional attempted charges include rape 2nd for vaginal sexual contact with a person under 15, a class E felony.

Henriquez was also charged with attempted rape 2nd for oral sexual contact with a person under 15, a class E felony.

He faces an additional charge of attempted endangering the welfare of a child, a class B misdemeanor.

Henriquez was transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment.
