ROCHESTER — A New Bedford man was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop that resulted in drug and weapons violations.

Nicholas Ouimet was taken into custody by Rochester police officers during a nighttime patrol operation.

Police said Ouimet was driving with a suspended license for a subsequent offense.

Officers also discovered ammunition without a valid firearms identification card and drugs without a prescription during the stop, according to police.

Ouimet was additionally charged with speeding and attempting to destroy evidence, police said.
