ELMORE — A New Hampshire man was arrested on multiple charges including DUI and an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop Thursday evening.

Aaron Alexander, 60, of North Conway, New Hampshire, was pulled over at approximately 5:56 p.m. on Vermont Route 12 near the municipal turnaround after a Vermont State Police trooper clocked him driving 70 mph in a 50 mph zone.

The trooper from the Williston Barracks was conducting stationary radar speed enforcement when Alexander’s vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed.

During the traffic stop, a records check revealed Alexander had an active warrant for his arrest and a criminally suspended driver’s license.

Troopers noticed signs of impairment while speaking with Alexander, who refused to participate in standardized field sobriety tests.

Alexander was arrested and transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was lodged on $200 bail.

He was issued citations to appear in Washington County Superior Court on Oct. 10 at 12:30 p.m. and in Lamoille County Superior Court on Nov. 12 at 12:30 p.m.
