CAMBRIDGE — A 16-year-old girl with autism has been reported missing after failing to return home, Cambridge police said Tuesday.

Sophie Stein was last seen wearing blue jeans and a grey “CRLS” sweater with the name “Stein” on the back.

Police described Stein as a white female with brown and red curly hair, blue eyes, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 120 pounds.

Stein is a high-functioning autistic student at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School who has also been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and mood disorders, according to police.

She has not been taking her medication since Sunday, authorities said.

Police said Stein was reported missing Monday night but attended school Tuesday without disclosing where she had stayed overnight.

Her address is listed as 8 Fernald Drive in Cambridge.

Anyone with information about Stein’s whereabouts is asked to contact Cambridge Detective Lopez at 781-777-3065 or the Cambridge Emergency Communications Department at 617-349-3300.
