Worcester man arrested on drug distribution charges after traffic stop

WORCESTER — A 21-year-old Worcester man was arrested on drug distribution charges after police stopped a speeding vehicle Oct. 9.

Worcester Police officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 12:32 p.m. in the area of Main and Chandler Streets after observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

During the investigation, front seat passenger Armani Santiago was found to have multiple baggies of crack cocaine and marijuana inside a large black bag.

Police said the method in which the drugs were packaged was consistent with distribution, not personal use.

Santiago is charged with Possession of Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Class D Substance with Intent to Distribute.

The driver and three other passengers were free to leave.
