Waitsfield crash involves bus, car at Main Street intersection

WAITSFIELD — A two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Carroll Road on Oct. 9 at approximately 1:18 p.m.

Vermont State Police troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene and determined that Kirsten Seibert, 63, of Waitsfield, was traveling south on Main Street in a 2014 Chevrolet Volt.

Avery Long, 63, of Waitsfield, was making a left turn to travel north on Main Street from Carroll Road while driving a 2022 Freightliner bus.

Police said Long failed to yield the right of way while making the left turn from Carroll Road onto Main Street.

Seibert was traveling south when Long entered her lane, resulting in a collision.

The bus operated by Long had no passengers at the time of the crash.

Long’s bus sustained minor damage to the front bumper, while Seibert’s vehicle had major damage to the passenger side body panels.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were screened by emergency medical services.

Neither driver reported injuries.

The roadway was cleared of all hazards and normal traffic flow resumed.

Weather conditions were clear and cool with dry road conditions at the time of the crash.
