STERLING — A 33-year-old Sterling man was arrested Oct. 5 on charges stemming from a domestic violence incident, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Timothy K. Hoisington was arrested at 11:22 a.m. on an arrest warrant charging him with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, all misdemeanors.
Deputies responded to a residence in Sterling at approximately 11:46 p.m. Oct. 4 for a reported domestic violence incident.
Victims reported that Hoisington was intoxicated and had been attacking people, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck.
Hoisington allegedly grabbed a female victim by the neck while chasing her and began to apply pressure to her neck.
The incident occurred in the presence of two children under the age of 16.
Hoisington also damaged property within the home including a TV and microwave that did not belong to him, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hoisington was processed at the Public Safety Building and then turned over to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment part court arraignment, where bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Hoisington appeared in Sterling Town Court on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
