Standish man found dead after disturbance call

STANDISH — Maine State Police are investigating the death of a 49-year-old man found inside a residence Friday evening.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 715 River Road at approximately 6:50 p.m. Oct. 3 for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies located a male deceased inside the residence.

The sheriff’s office requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South.

The deceased has been identified as Matthew Hamilton of Cumberland County.

Hamilton’s body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.

The cause and manner of death are not being released at this time.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is ongoing.

All persons involved in the incident have been identified and there is no threat to the public.
