SCITUATE — State police arrested a 47-year-old Cranston woman Tuesday afternoon on multiple fraud charges and resisting arrest.
Troopers arrested Jarconna Mathis of 1185 Narragansett Blvd. at 3:21 p.m. on charges of resisting arrest and an active warrant.
The warrant included charges of conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses over $10,000, fraudulent obtaining of public assistance over $500, and fraudulent use of food stamps.
The charges originated from the State Police Scituate Barracks.
The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation conducted by Trooper Hawkins and other troopers conducting a warrant check at Mathis’ residence.
Mathis was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace.
She was released with a notice to appear in Third Division District Court.
