ALBANY — A 44-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with a menacing incident that occurred last evening on Central Avenue.
On Wednesday, October 8 around 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 500 block of Central Avenue near North Main Avenue for reports of a person with a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Naquan Moran had been involved in an altercation with neighbors, during which he threatened them with a handgun.
Moran was located on scene and subsequently taken into custody.
There were no injuries reported at the time of the incident.
Additionally, members from the Albany police department’s Criminal Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at Moran’s residence in reference to the incident.
During the search warrant, detectives recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Moran has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and one count of Menacing 2nd.
He was arraigned this morning in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail with bail set at $20,000.
