SPRINGVILLE — Four people were arrested Wednesday following a drug raid at a Springville residence after a tip was reported to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Team.
Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the arrests of Marissa Sampson, 33, of Springville; Sylvia Bird, 57, of Springville; John Pfarner, 43, of Springville; and Stephen Warren, 52, of Delevan.
The Narcotics and Intelligence Unit obtained a search warrant for 192 Woodward Ave. in Springville, Sampson’s person and Sampson’s vehicle with assistance from the Springville Police Department.
The warrant was signed by Hon. Edward Young of Springville Justice Court and executed at approximately 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies seized methamphetamine, additional methamphetamine residue and drug paraphernalia inside the house.
Sampson was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (two counts) and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Bird faces charges of first-degree criminal nuisance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Pfarner was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia (two counts).
Warren was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Garcia said the case demonstrates the effectiveness of the Community Engagement Team, which he launched last year to embed deputies in the communities they serve.
