Malden police find purple-tinted fentanyl during investigation

MALDEN — Officers discovered purple-tinted fentanyl during an investigation today, according to the Malden Police Department.

Officers Cam Selfridge and Blake Ferry encountered the colored substance while conducting police work.

Police said dealers may color fentanyl for marketing purposes or to attract younger users.

The department warned that fentanyl is deadly regardless of its color.

Police urged residents to stay alert and educate their families about the dangers of the drug.
