Harrison police warn of jury duty phone scam

HARRISON — The Harrison Police Department is warning residents about a phone scam circulating in the area involving fake jury duty violations.

The scammer is calling from 914-771-0228 and identifying himself as a Harrison Police Department officer, according to police.

The caller tells victims they missed jury duty and must pay a fine or face arrest.

Police say the Harrison Police Department will never call people to collect money.

Anyone who received such a call or fell victim to the scam should contact the Harrison Police Department directly at 914-967-5111 ext. 1.
