CAMBRIDGE — Vermont State Police arrested a Pennsylvania man on suspicion of driving under the influence after receiving reports of erratic driving through Smuggler’s Notch.
Scott Higgins, 37, of Conyngham, Pa., was taken into custody at approximately 8:27 p.m. Oct. 7 following a traffic stop on Vermont Route 15 at Cambridge Junction Road.
Police received a be-on-the-lookout alert at approximately 8:23 p.m. for a vehicle driving erratically through Smuggler’s Notch on Vermont Route 108 South.
Troopers located the vehicle and conducted the motor vehicle stop in Cambridge.
During the interaction with Higgins, troopers detected multiple indicators of impairment.
Following a roadside investigation, Higgins was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the Stowe Police Department for processing.
Higgins was issued a citation to appear at Lamoille County Superior Court on Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of DUI.
