White Plains police report 52 arrests in weeklong period

WHITE PLAINS — Police made 52 arrests between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4, according to the White Plains Public Safety police blotter.

Two Peekskill women, ages 22 and 24, were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest Sept. 28 on Waller Avenue during a fight in a parking lot.

Both women were ordered to leave and released with future court dates.

A 33-year-old White Plains man was arrested Sept. 29 on Mamaroneck Avenue for leaving the scene and causing personal injury in a motor vehicle accident.

His vehicle was impounded and he was released with a future court date.

A 68-year-old homeless man was charged with fifth-degree arson Sept. 30 at 274 Hamilton Ave. after lighting a bush on fire.

The fire department quickly extinguished the blaze and indicated an accelerant was used.

The man was released with a future court date.

A 35-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with driving while intoxicated Oct. 2 at 237 Ferris Ave. after being involved in a motor vehicle accident with no injuries.

He was booked and released to Westchester County Police for an active warrant.

A 24-year-old Yorktown man was charged with reckless driving Oct. 4 at 3 Lyon Pl. for performing donuts at high speed in a municipal parking structure.

His vehicle was impounded and he was released with a future court date.

A 47-year-old Bronx man was charged with third-degree assault Oct. 4 at 5 Barker Ave. after punching a co-worker in a parking lot.

He was held for arraignment.

Other arrests during the period included 10 trespass charges, nine vehicle and traffic law violations, seven city ordinance violations, six larceny charges, four assault or menacing charges, two disorderly conduct charges, two controlled substance charges, two warrants, one obstructing governmental administration charge, one public lewdness charge and one public health law violation.
