ELLENVILLE — Troopers from the New York State Police Ellenville barracks responded to a report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision on State Route 209 in Ellenville, town of Wawarsing, on Sunday, Oct. 5, at approximately 8:38 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Honda and a 2022 Subaru were both traveling southbound on Route 209 when the collision occurred.
The operator and sole occupant of the Honda, identified as a 24-year-old woman from Ellenville, received life-saving measures at the scene.
She was subsequently airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.
The operator of the Subaru, identified as a 25-year-old male from Woodbourne, was not injured.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The New York State Police are requesting assistance from the public.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was in the area of Barthel’s Farm Market and Creamery or near 8097 State Route 209 in Ellenville around the time of the crash is asked to contact the State Police in Middletown at (845) 344-5300.
