Springwater man arrested on felony domestic violence charges

SPRINGWATER — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Springwater resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 23 at approximately 11:09 a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Springwater for a reported domestic incident.

It is alleged through the investigation that 35-year-old Kyle Rodriguez of Springwater had gotten into a physical altercation with a female at the residence.

The alleged acts occurred while an active Order of Protection was in place, protecting the female individual from Rodriguez, making this arrest a felony.

On Oct. 2, Rodriguez was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Brock Allen and charged with felony Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and violation Harassment in the Second Degree.

Rodriguez was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Rodriguez was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Nunda Justice Morris.

The District Attorney’s Office recommended that bail be set at $5,000 cash or $25,000 bond.

The Judge remanded Rodriguez to the custody of the Sheriff with bail set at $2,000 cash or $2,000 bond.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Rodriguez at the court arraignment for his defense.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
