Springfield police arrest man on gun, drug charges after stolen motorcycle report

SPRINGFIELD — On Sunday, Oct. 5 at approximately 10:15 a.m., Springfield Police Officers seized an illegal firearm and heroin while arresting 45-year-old Roberto Falcon.

About 20 minutes earlier, officers responded to the 900 block of Worthington Street for a report of a stolen motorcycle.

Members of the Springfield Police Real-Time Analysis Center (R-TAC) provided officers with a photo of subjects around the stolen motorcycle.

When officers arrived, the subjects scattered into a building.

As officers entered the building, they located a firearm magazine on the stairs and an open door to an apartment.

Officers encountered Falcon, who was attempting to get away.

Officers recovered a firearm loaded with one round of ammunition and no magazine inside the apartment.

Falcon was placed under arrest.

Officers also recovered four bags of heroin from Falcon, and he had an active arrest warrant.

A second subject was identified and released.

In 2022, Falcon was convicted of firearm and drug trafficking charges.

45-year-old Roberto Falcon of Springfield is charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, armed breaking and entering daytime for a felony, carrying a firearm without a license – 2nd offense, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of ammunition without an FID card, firearm violation with one prior violent/drug crime, possession of a class A drug and arrest warrant.
