SCIPIO — A 42-year-old Scipio man was arrested Sept. 27 on charges including assault and child endangerment following a domestic incident, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office announced Oct. 6.
Matthew J. Koziol faces charges of assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child, and failure to safely store rifles, shotguns and firearms in the first degree, all misdemeanors.
Deputies responded to an address in Scipio at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sept. 27 for a domestic incident.
During the investigation, deputies determined that Koziol allegedly struck a victim in the leg with a medical crutch during an argument, causing significant swelling and pain while the victim was holding an infant child.
