ADDISON — A 21-year-old New York man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle on Vermont Route 17 Thursday night.
Nathanael S. Pegues of Ticonderoga, New York, was driving a 2012 Audi A4 west on Vermont Route 17 near the intersection with Otter Creek Road at approximately 11:28 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and traveled onto the westbound shoulder.
The vehicle came to rest upright on the shoulder facing west.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
State police troopers observed indicators of impairment while speaking with Pegues and placed him under arrest.
Investigation revealed Pegues was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in any vehicle he operated but did not have such a device in the Audi.
Pegues was transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court on Oct. 20 at 12:30 p.m.
Troopers were assisted by the Middlebury Police Department, Addison Fire Department and MiddState Towing.
