WATERTOWN — The Watertown Police Department announced the arrest of Dylan Faherty, 30, of Watertown on multiple charges related to the possession and dissemination of child pornography.
The investigation began after detectives from the Watertown Police Department’s Detective Division received a tip regarding the possible possession and distribution of illegal images and videos from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Working in collaboration with state and federal partners, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence.
During the search, investigators recovered electronic devices containing illegal material.
Faherty was taken into custody without incident Thursday morning and is charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography.
Additional charges may be sought as the investigation continues.
“Protecting children is one of our highest priorities,” said Chief Justin M. Hanrahan.
“This arrest reflects the unwavering commitment of our officers and investigators to keep our community safe and to ensure that those who exploit children are brought to justice.”
The suspect is expected to be arraigned Thursday at Waltham District Court.
The investigation remains active, and no further details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the case.
