HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced Friday that officers arrested two suspects and recovered cocaine and heroin/fentanyl while conducting a property check on South Bridge Street.
Officers have received complaints from both residents and property managers about individuals trespassing, selling and using drugs in the alleyways near 534 South Bridge Street.
Around 4:25 a.m. Friday morning, Holyoke Police Officers Ashley Feliciano, Yashira Loyd, Luis Rivera and Samantha Cayer conducted a property check in that area.
Officers entered an alleyway and observed a subject, known to police, as Francisco Ubiera-Oyola.
Officers arrested Ubiera-Oyola in this same area on Sept. 27 for three outstanding default warrants.
Officers recovered approximately 30 grams of suspected cocaine in a gray vial, additional suspected cocaine in orange vials, three bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl and more than $1,000 in cash.
Ubiera-Oyola was placed under arrest.
A short time later, officers encountered another subject in the alleyway, later identified as Luis Daniel-Colon.
Daniel-Colon had two active arrest warrants out of Holyoke District Court, and he was placed under arrest.
Francisco Ubiera-Oyola, 36, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug, possession of a Class A drug and trespassing.
Luis Daniel-Colon, 48, of Holyoke is charged with two arrest warrants.
