MANCHESTER — A Lawrence man formerly employed by Lawrence schools has pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the sexual assault of a minor.

Jesus Moore, 35, a former Lawrence school employee and varsity basketball coach, initially was charged by Manchester Police in February with aggravated felonious sexual assault.

He was charged federally in July with transportation to engage in unlawful sexual conduct.

The investigation revealed that Moore facilitated transportation for a female student to travel to Manchester, gave her alcohol, and sexually assaulted her at a Manchester hotel.

The assault occurred in 2022, and the victim was a minor at the time.

Moore will be sentenced on the federal charges in January 2026.
