DUANESBURG — A 63-year-old New York woman died Thursday after a teenage driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with her vehicle on State Route 20.

Barbara A. Bryant of Schenevus was driving a 2014 Dodge Caravan westbound on Route 20 at about 11:39 a.m. when a 2007 BMW sedan turning left from McGuire School Road struck her vehicle.

Bryant was transported to Ellis Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Her passenger, Robert Gaudino, 36, of Burlington Flats, was transported to Albany Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

The 17-year-old driver of the BMW, along with passenger Kodah Schepisi, 16, of Albany, and a dog, were transported to Albany Medical Center.

Both BMW occupants are listed in stable condition, though one passenger sustained an eye injury that is expected to result in the loss of vision.

The teenage driver was issued a traffic citation for failing to stop at a stop sign.

State Police said the preliminary investigation revealed the BMW was traveling south on McGuire School Road and failed to make a complete stop as it turned left onto Route 20.

The investigation remains ongoing.
