Police: Auburn man with felony warrant arrested after brief escape attempt

AUBURN — Members of the Auburn Police Department received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Trentyn D. Jackson on Sept. 30.

Jackson had an active felony bench warrant for failing to report to court for previous charges of Strangulation 2nd Degree and Assault 3rd Degree.

Officers responded to 9 Hoffman St. in an attempt to locate Jackson.

Jackson was observed inside the residence, and officers gained access from the homeowner.

Jackson was taken into custody without issue and transported to the Auburn Police Department for processing at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, Jackson was being escorted inside the building when he dropped his body weight and began running away from officers.

Jackson was quickly taken into custody and brought inside the building.

Jackson was processed on the bench warrant and also charged with Escape in the second degree.

Jackson was transported to the Cayuga County Jail where he was held pending arraignment.
