LEDYARD — The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Romar Ramando Stone following a sex offense investigation.
Sheriff Brian Schenck reported the investigation began Sept. 26 after allegations that Stone exposed an adolescent to sexual contact in the Town of Ledyard.
The Criminal Investigations Division worked with the Cayuga County Child Advocacy Center to determine the extent of the abuse.
Detectives located Stone in the Village of Aurora and took him into custody.
Stone was charged with Rape in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
He was processed and arraigned at CAP court and remanded to Cayuga County Jail with bail set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
A federal immigration detainer has been lodged with the jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
