Man arrested on drug, weapons charges in East Greenwich

HOPE VALLEY — Troopers arrested Jacob Sweeney, age 34, of Ashaway, on Monday, Sept. 29, at 2:40 p.m. for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (crack cocaine) and weapons other than firearms prohibited.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Division Road in East Greenwich.

Sweeney was transported to State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, then released.

On Monday, Sept. 29, at 8:24 p.m., troopers arrested Richard Bourque, age 38, of 480 South County Trail, Exeter, for domestic violence charges including simple assault and/or battery, refusal to relinquish/damage/obstruct telephone, vandalism and disorderly conduct, all first offenses.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation conducted by troopers and a subsequent residence check in West Warwick.

Bourque was transported to State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Fourth District Court date.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 1:18 p.m., troopers arrested Jonathan Gosnell, age 19, of 3 Sypher Road, Chester, for reckless driving.

The arrest resulted from troopers responding to a motor vehicle crash on Main Street in Richmond.

Gosnell was transported to State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future Fourth District Court date.
