LONG LAKE — New York State Police arrested John M. Barber, 24, of Lake Luzerne on Sept. 29 for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Troopers responded to Dock Lane in Long Lake at approximately 5:44 p.m. on July 22 regarding a stolen vehicle complaint.

An investigation revealed that the victim had allowed Barber to borrow his vehicle but expected it to be returned.

Barber was driving the victim’s gray 2017 Hyundai and was refusing to return it.

The car was later found abandoned in New York City, and the victim was informed of its location.

State Police actively searched for Barber, who was eventually arrested and processed at SP Schroon Lake.

He was released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Schroon Lake for a later date in October.
