Lewiston woman arrested on drug trafficking charges after months-long investigation

LEWISTON — A 21-year-old Lewiston woman was arrested on drug trafficking charges following a months-long investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Samantha Ogwudiegwu was arrested at her workplace on Howe Street on Wednesday on four counts of aggravated trafficking schedule W drugs class A.

Bail was set at $12,500, and Ogwudiegwu is being held at Androscoggin County Jail pending her initial appearance.

Agents from the Western District Task Force began investigating Ogwudiegwu’s alleged drug trafficking activities over the past several months, including conducting undercover purchases of fentanyl from her.

On Tuesday, agents executed a search warrant at Ogwudiegwu’s residence on Granite Street with assistance from the Lewiston Police Department.

During the search, agents seized 167 grams of cocaine, 7.9 grams of fentanyl, 1,100 30mg Oxycodone pills, 60 Xanax pills, 30 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two handguns and an AR-15 pistol.

Ogwudiegwu is awaiting an initial appearance in Androscoggin County Unified Court, where additional charges may be filed.
