HINESBURG — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash with injuries on Baldwin Road at approximately 11:38 p.m. Sept. 29.
Troopers found a 2021 Honda Ridgeline that had left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area near 18 Baldwin Road.
The vehicle was operated by Andrew S. Herbert, 29, of Burlington.
Preliminary investigation indicated Herbert was traveling toward Monkton when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed.
Through continued investigation, troopers developed probable cause that Herbert was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Herbert sustained injuries to his neck and arms and was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage on the driver’s side.
Herbert was later issued a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court on Oct. 16 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to a charge of DUI.
Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.
