Greece man arrested after vehicle pursuit, striking patrol car

GREECE — A 20-year-old Greece man was arrested Sept. 29 following a vehicle pursuit that began with reports of a suspicious person checking vehicles and ended with multiple felony charges.

Jamill M. Wallace was taken into custody after fleeing from police in a stolen 2023 Honda Accord valued at $28,000, according to the Greece Police Department.

Officers responded at approximately 12:41 p.m. to the area of Forgham Road and Stonecliff Drive for a report of a suspicious male checking vehicles.

When officers located Wallace and attempted a traffic stop, he refused to comply and fled in the stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was later found at Columbus Park, where Wallace struck a portable restroom, a guardrail and a patrol vehicle.

Wallace also nearly struck two Greece Police officers before fleeing again, police said.

A pursuit continued into the City of Rochester and ended in the area of Britton Road and Sterling Square.

Wallace then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody by officers.

The stolen Honda sustained approximately $2,000 in damage and was towed to the Greece Police Department’s impound lot.

Additional property damage included a portable restroom and a wooden guardrail.

No officers or community members were injured during the pursuit.

Wallace was charged with attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment in the first degree, grand larceny in the third degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, unauthorized use of a vehicle in the first degree, unlawful fleeing a police officer in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second and fourth degrees, reckless driving, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

Wallace was transported to the county jail and held pending arraignment in CAP Court.

The New York State Police and Rochester Police Department assisted Greece officers.
