Providence police make 3 arrests over weekend

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Carmen Braxston, age 34, of Providence, on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the Providence Police Department on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hawkins Street in the City of Providence.

Braxston was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.

Troopers arrested Yves Sylvain, age 49, of Providence, on a Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Central Falls Police Department on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 11:44 p.m.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Barton Street in the City of Pawtucket.

Sylvain was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Woman’s Intake Center.

Troopers arrested Cristian Veloz Gonzalez, age 25, of Providence, for DUI of Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense on Monday, Sept. 29, at 2:00 a.m.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street, in the City of Providence.

Veloz Gonzalez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
