Man arrested after foot chase in Bath on drug, warrant charges

BATH — An off-duty officer observed and reported a suspect with numerous felony warrants walking in the area of East Steuben Street at approximately 9 a.m. Sept. 24.

An on-duty officer with Bath Police Department responded to the scene, at which time the suspect took off on foot, resulting in a foot pursuit.

The suspect was apprehended while fleeing and was taken into custody.

Domenick M. Lepera, age 33, of Prattsburg, was taken into custody on multiple felony Steuben County Court bench warrants for numerous drug possession and sale charges.

Lepera was additionally arrested on a Superior Court arrest warrant for bail jumping in the first degree, a Class D felony.

Subsequent to his arrest on these warrants, Lepera was found to have attempted to ditch a bag during the foot pursuit that contained drugs and drug packaging materials.

A large quantity of U.S. currency was also located on his person and seized.

Additional charges are pending.

Lepera was arraigned in Steuben County Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
