EXETER — Rhode Island State Police arrested six people Sunday on charges ranging from obstructing officers to driving under the influence.
Frances Gardner, 27, of Exeter, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. for obstructing officer in execution of duty.
The arrest resulted from troopers responding to a domestic disturbance at 40 Brooks Bend Road.
Gardner was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released.
At the same time and location, troopers arrested Daquan Jefferson, 27, of 40 Exeter, for obstructing officer in execution of duty.
Jefferson was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed before being transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
At 2:02 p.m., troopers arrested Tammy Silva, 50, of Exeter, on an active Fourth Division District Court bench warrant for disorderly conduct.
The arrest resulted from troopers responding to investigate a neighbor dispute at 480 South County Trail.
Silva was transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
At 10:19 p.m., troopers arrested Michael A. Furtado, 37, of West Warwick, for driving under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol content between .10 and .15.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Exeter.
Furtado’s blood alcohol content measured 0.118% and 0.123% in two phases of testing.
He was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Fourth Division District Court.
At 10:55 p.m., troopers arrested Chris J. Johnson, 38, of Pawtucket, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance over 10 grams less than 1 ounce.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in Warwick.
Johnson was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a notice to appear in Fourth Division District Court.
At 11:04 p.m., troopers arrested Bruno Machado, 42, of East Providence, on a Providence County Superior Court bench warrant.
The warrant was for failure to appear for determination of attorney on an original charge of first-degree robbery from the East Providence Police Department.
The arrest resulted from an unwanted party complaint at the Zinnia House in Exeter.
Machado was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
