WALTON — The Walton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Country Meadow trailer park at 5:24 a.m. today.
The fire was initially reported as a barn and house fire.
All residents were evacuated from a mobile home by 5:32 a.m.
The first officer arrived at 5:34 a.m. and found a 15-by-15-foot shed on the ground and still burning.
A mobile home sustained serious heat damage but did not ignite.
The Trout Creek Fire Department provided mutual aid with a tanker and personnel while Walton units were en route.
The fire chief reported the blaze was mostly extinguished by 5:56 a.m., with crews checking for extension into the exposed mobile home.
Crews entered overhaul mode by 6:35 a.m. and began investigating the cause.
The shed had no electrical service running to it.
An ember from an unattended campfire was determined as the possible cause.
The campfire was still warm with glowing embers when firefighters arrived.
All units cleared the scene at approximately 7 a.m.
No injuries were reported to civilians or fire personnel.
