Schenectady police investigate body recovered from Mohawk River

SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady Police Department received a 911 call reporting a possible body floating in the Mohawk River near Rivers Casino on Sunday at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene and recovered the body of a deceased male with assistance from the New York State Police, Scotia Fire Department and the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
