Providence man arrested on weapons, DUI charges

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Israel Chevez Bonilla, age 29, of Providence, early Sunday morning on multiple charges including driving under the influence and weapons violations.

The arrest occurred at 2:48 a.m. Sept. 28 during a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue.

Chevez Bonilla faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with unknown blood alcohol content, refusal to submit to a chemical test, three counts of carrying a weapon while under the influence, two counts of license or permit required for carrying a pistol or revolver, and three counts of large capacity feeding devices prohibited.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future court date at the Sixth Division District Court.

In separate incidents, troopers arrested Michael Lanouette, age 34, of 95 Raymond Street, Apartment 2, Providence, at 11 p.m. Saturday on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

The warrant originated from the North Providence Police Department, and the arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street.

Lanouette was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

At 3:25 a.m. Sunday, troopers arrested Monica Fernandes, age 49, of 125 Johnston Street, Second Floor, Pawtucket, for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .10 and .15.

Her breath test results showed .148 in the first phase and .146 in the second phase.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Orms Street in Providence.

Fernandes was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future court date at the Sixth Division District Court.
