Body found in overgrown area of Brockport under investigation

BROCKPORT — Police are investigating after a body was discovered in an overgrown thicket in the 200 block of State Street on Sept. 27.

Brockport Police Officers responded to the commercial area at approximately 3:15 p.m. for a report of a dead body.

The body appears to be of an adult male that has been at the location for several days if not longer, according to police.

The initial investigation with assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Technicians Unit and the Medical Examiner did not show any signs of criminality involved in the incident.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office will continue their investigation for cause of death and attempt identification.

Police said there is no threat to the community.
