BARTON — Vermont State Police arrested a 36-year-old Holland man early Friday morning on charges of simple assault and driving under the influence following an incident at a local bar.
Dustin Ferrin was taken into custody at 12:05 a.m. Sept. 27 after police responded to a report of an assault on a bouncer at the Lake House Saloon on Main Street.
The victim was identified as Patrick Lafaso, 50, of Albany.
Police said Ferrin had left the scene before troopers arrived but was located a short distance away on Main Street operating a motor vehicle.
Investigation revealed that Ferrin was both the operator of the vehicle and the suspect in the assault, according to police.
Ferrin showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested, police said.
He was transported to the Derby Barracks for processing and released on a citation to appear in court.
