ALBANY — Albany police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred last evening in the area of Second Street and North Lake Avenue.
On Friday, Sept. 26 around 11 p.m., staff from Albany Memorial Hospital notified police after two individuals entered the emergency room with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers located a 54-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his lower leg and a graze bullet wound to the back of his head.
A 54-year-old female was also treated for lacerations to her arm, believed to have been caused by broken glass from a window that shattered when struck by gunfire.
Both victims are being treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Through further investigation, it has been determined that both victims were occupants of a vehicle traveling westbound on Second Street near North Lake Avenue when the vehicle was struck by gunfire.
