Vehicle damages soybean fields in Kirkland

KIRKLAND — The Oneida County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating criminal mischief that occurred between Sept. 9 and Sept. 10, possibly during overnight hours.

According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, someone driving a vehicle or side-by-side UTV drove through two soybean fields, causing extensive damage to the crops.

One field is located on Skyline Drive near the radio tower south of Reservoir Road.

The other field is on the south side of Cemetery Road, a seasonal road that runs between Skyline Drive and Skinner Road.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance with the investigation.
