DUNBARTON — A 22-year-old Dunbarton man was arrested Friday on multiple felony charges related to child sexual abuse images following a months-long investigation by local police and state authorities.
Alexander James Cross was taken into custody on an arrest warrant charging him with seven counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images, seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, two counts of certain uses of computer services prohibited and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation began in March following the assignment of several CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
On June 18, the Dunbarton Police Department and members of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Dunbarton.
During the search, investigators seized multiple items of evidentiary value and conducted several interviews.
Cross was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections and held without bail pursuant to New Hampshire RSA 597:2.
He is scheduled for arraignment Monday, Sept. 29 in the 6th Circuit – District Division – Concord.
The New Hampshire ICAC Task Force is a statewide initiative dedicated to investigating offenders who exploit children online.
The Dunbarton Police Department is a participating affiliate of the task force.
