NEWBURY — A 63-year-old North Conway, New Hampshire man was injured Tuesday morning when his pickup truck hydroplaned and rolled over on Interstate 91 South.
Edward Boyle was traveling south on Interstate 91 at approximately 10:43 a.m. when his 2022 Ram 1500 hydroplaned near mile marker 109.5, according to Vermont State Police.
The vehicle exited the west side of the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its passenger side.
Multiple good samaritans assisted Boyle at the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Members of the Wells River Fire Department and Woodsville Ambulance responded and extricated Boyle from the vehicle.
Boyle, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained suspected moderate injuries and was transported to Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, New Hampshire.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene.
Speed and heavy rain are suspected contributing factors in the crash, which occurred during conditions of standing and flowing water on the roadway.
