HERMON — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to two unrelated domestic violence incidents involving standoffs on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.
On Sept. 22 at 5:52 p.m., deputies responded to a call in Hermon where a victim reported that their significant other, Timothy Pendleton, 44, of Hermon, was destroying property at their residence.
The victim had a court-granted protection order against Pendleton, which had not yet been served.
Upon arrival, deputies attempted to serve the protection order, but Pendleton refused to accept it, leave the residence, or surrender to law enforcement after being informed of his arrest.
Sheriff’s deputies obtained a search warrant and an arrest warrant, ultimately arresting Pendleton for violation of a protective order, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and domestic violence terrorizing.
In a separate incident on Sept. 23 at approximately 4:19 p.m., deputies responded to a call in Levant regarding Travis Rideout, 36, of Levant, who was acting disorderly at a residence.
Following an investigation, deputies determined there was probable cause to arrest Rideout for domestic violence and criminal threatening.
Rideout also refused to surrender to law enforcement, prompting deputies to surround the residence and again apply for an arrest warrant and search warrant.
After several hours, Rideout surrendered to authorities.
Rideout was charged with domestic violence and criminal threatening.
Both individuals were released on bail.
