Norwood police investigate shooting that injured 1

NORWOOD — Police received multiple reports of possible gunfire in the area of Columbine Road at approximately 5:01 p.m.

Responding officers located evidence of shots fired.

Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle leave the area at a high rate of speed, as well as three individuals running from the scene.

Shortly after, a 911 call was received from a victim near Route 1 and Dean Street.

Officers and Norwood Fire responded immediately, and the victim was transported to a Boston trauma center.

The victim’s injuries are not life threatening.

While on scene, officers detained three individuals who were in the area where the suspects fled.

They were later released.
