Teen arrested for threatening school in Rhinebeck

RHINEBECK — A 13-year-old from Port Ewen was arrested Saturday, Sept. 20, for allegedly making a threat of mass harm.

State police and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation took the juvenile into custody.

Troopers had received information Friday, Sept. 19, about a student at Astor Services making threats against the school.

The threats followed a disciplinary incident at the facility located at 6339 Mill St.

The juvenile was issued a Family Court Appearance Ticket.

The ticket is returnable to Dutchess County Family Court.

Authorities said there is no current threat to the public.
