Man faces DUI, reckless endangerment charges after domestic dispute in Woodford

WOODFORD — A Rhode Island man was arrested Sunday night following a domestic disturbance at a Woodford cabin.

Vermont State Police responded to State Park Road at approximately 10:14 p.m. on Sept. 21 after a caller reported that Robert Weigner, 40, had left the property in a vehicle with his 8-year-old son.

Troopers made contact with Weigner at the scene.

Officers detected several indicators of impairment while speaking with him.

An investigation revealed that Weigner had operated a vehicle on a public highway while under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license.

Weigner was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and transported to the Shaftsbury State Police Barracks for processing.

He was processed and released with a citation to appear in court.

Weigner is scheduled to appear in the Bennington County Superior Court – Criminal Division at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 13 to answer to charges of DUI refusal and reckless endangerment.
